Based on the community’s feedback, a final design has been selected for the switchroom.

In considering the visual impact to the surrounding community, the building has been designed to reflect the local area.

The proposed exterior materials are precast concrete panels, coated with a high bonding strength paint. The neutral pastel colours complement the residential and commercial neighbourhood. This finish will provide superior weather proofing protection to the building. The roof will be clad with high grade Colorbond roof sheeting.

Under the State Environmental Planning Policy, Ausgrid is the approving authority for the project. As part of the approval process, Ausgrid undertake an environmental assessment, known as a

Review of Environmental Factors (REF), to investigate the potential environmental impacts associated with the project. The REF has now been finalised and the project has been approved for construction.

Ausgrid has received feedback from the community on this project and incorporated this into designs for the new switchroom and the Review of Environmental Factors (REF). The final design and finalised REF can be viewed via a link at the bottom of this page.

Your feedback and enquiries are welcome at all stages of the project to ensure we are effectively managing any impacts on the immediate community.

Like on any construction site, issues such as noise and dust – as a result of work on and around the site, will be carefully managed.

Ausgrid work hours are 7am to 6pm on weekdays, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays with no work on Sundays or public holidays. We will notify nearby neighbours in advance with work that will take place outside of these hours.

Please note that the Concord substation will remain in service for the duration of the project. Normal day-to-day operations will continue to maintain electrical supply.
